My story

Art saved me, taught me how to let go, reminded me to breathe, and helped me to develop a mindfulness practice—reconnecting me to nature through daily walking (or hiking when I’m lucky!) and painting practices.

My work changes seasonally, as does my mood and the land around me—but what remains constant is my appreciation for beauty in all places and of all sizes and the joy and pleasure found in expressing it visually. While nature’s beauty needs no elevation, our busy and screen-addled eyes too often overlook the magnificent beauty all around us; art reminds us to actually see the world we walk through, art asks us to tread lightly and look out for the little beauties we might not have otherwise noticed.

In addition to the pieces listed on this site; I am also available for commissioned pieces of original artwork. Additionally, I love making “custom bites of beauty,” one-off little gems, like postcards, magnets, thank you notes, and treasure boxes—if you have a project in mind, please let me know so we can get started creating something beautiful together.

In gratitude,

Marie

… the first time I remember nature taking my breath away.
